A second edition was released in 1973; both have long been out of print. Featuring drawings and notes by Louis I. Kahn, one of America’s most inventive and influential modernist architects, it was the first book to present Kahn’s work and one of the earliest public announcements of his genius.

The Reader's Guide
A companion Reader’s Guide developed with the editorial guidance of Richard Saul Wurman. This completely new publication provides context for the facsimile and includes much previously unpublished material on Kahn’s life and work. It is being conceptualized and designed to be of interest even to those who are familiar with Kahn. It will include surprising images and material that in many cases will never otherwise be seen by the public.
